                             Watts Funeral Homes

                                          serves you better

At Watts Funeral Homes we care for hundreds of cremation families each year and the one question we get asked time and again is, "how do I know that the cremains I receive from you are in fact my loved one." The problem with many local cremation providers are you really don’t know? For years crematories have used metal identification tag to identify the cremated remains. This tag is place in the crematory, often at the crematory door opening and then cremated with the deceased. While this might sound like a good system it has many flaws.

Such as the fact that:

1.  The identification tag is not placed on the deceased

2. The identification tag is issued at the crematory, so you are never given the opportunity to inspect the identification tag.

The Watts Family looked at many different identification systems available, but where unable to locate a system that they could have confidence in and that would give their families peace of mind. Unable to locate a commercial system the Watts Family set out to create a customized system only available to families who choose Watts Funeral Homes as their cremation provide. With the culmination of 12 months and several thousand dollars spent in research they finally created a trademarked system called Assure Track TM

The Assure Track TM system is a series of safe guards, that when combined give the family the peace of mind of knowing that the cremated remains they receive form us are in fact their loved one. This system includes a special 301 stainless steel identification disk that bears a non repeating 5 digit number. The disk is affixed to a tamper proof 301 stainless steel band, both of which are able to withstand temperatures in access of 2200 degrees.

At the time of the arrangement conference the Assure Track TM identification band  and disk are shown to the family and the non repeating 5 digit number is recorded on the Assure Tack TM form. A witness that personally knows the deceased then accompanies one of our cremation care specialist to our viewing room where they witness the Assure Track  TM band and disk placed on the wrist of their loved one .  A copy of the Assure Track TM form is then given to the witness.

Once we are ready to proceed with the cremation,  2 cremationist certified by the Cremation Association of North America are required to be present for the start of the cremation process, including 1 licensed member of the Watts family. After completing our ridged 15 point check list and verifying that the Assure Track TM band on the deceased matched the number on the Assure Track TM form signed by the witness,  can we then proceed with the cremation process.

The Assure Track TM band  and disk then accompanies the deceased through the entire cremation process and is then returned with the band intact with the cremated remains. While the Assure Track  TM  system is not required by state law and my cremation providers choose not to use such a complex system. The Watts Family feels that your peace of mind is more important that any inconvenience this system may cause.
