Betty Jean Cordell, 82 of Georgetown, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 19, 2011. Betty was born on June 6, 1929 to the Late Raymond and Josephine (Kuhns) Simpkins. She grew up in Indiana and retired to Florida. As a young woman, Betty was adventurous and enjoyed traveling. She loved to fish and quilt. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church for 21 years where she actively was involved. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Richard (Dick) Cordell. Survivors are nephews, Doug and David Brown; niece, Debbie Meeks; close friend, Nita Lyons, other dear friends and her church family. Betty’s life will be celebrated on Monday, November 28, 2011, 11 AM at Beulah Baptist Church with Pastor Robby Paxton as officiant. Interment will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
