Burton Gribble, Jr. 81, of Satsuma, Florida passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the Bailey Family Center for Caring in St. Augustine, Florida. Burton was born on Wednesday, December 11, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Burton, Sr. And Ruth (Kinlau) Gribble. He is also preceded in death by his sisters: Phyllis Marcum, Delores Nixon, Mary DeRay and Carol Blackwelder. He was a retired detective from the St. Johns County Sheriff Department. Mr. Gribble is survived by his loving wife of 16 ½ years, Grace “Paula” Gribble of Satsuma, Florida; sons: Dale T. Gribble of Satsuma, Florida, Ronald Tommer, Sr. And Robert Tommer both of Cleveland, Ohio; daughters: Julie Armold and husband Robert, Kathy Pappy, Sherry Stratton and husband David all of St. Augustine, Florida, and Shelly Gribble of San Mateo, Florida; brother, Elliott Gribble and wife Linda of St. Augustine, Florida; sisters: Helene Baththune of Jacksonville, Florida and Sharon Gribble of St. Augustine, Florida; Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; three stepsons, many other releatives and friends who will miss him dearly. A Tribute to Burton’s Life will be 2 PM, Monday, May 9, 2011with Pastor Ronald L. Stafford, officiating, at Watts Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions in Burton’s name may be made to the Bailey Family Center for Caring, 400 Health Park Blvd., St. Augustine, Florida 32086. Simplicity Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc., San Mateo, Florida.
