Charles O. “Charlie” Holland 88 of Welaka, Florida passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka, Florida. Charles was born on Sunday, December 10, 1922 in McRae, Georgia to the late Charles Boyd and Ollie Lee (Hall) Holland. Mr. Holland proudly served his country during WWII faithfully in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Mason Temple Lodge #23, the Scottish Rite and Shrine Morocco. Condolences may be sent to the family by signing Charlie’s online page at WWW.WattsFuneralHomes.com. Mr. Holland is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Wilma Orvin Holland of Welaka, Florida; son, Ronnie Holland and friend Nelda Adkins; daughters: Connie Tharp and husband Jimmy, and Carla Holland; grandchildren: Ron Holland, Jr., Kari Blandford and husband Bob, Richie Tharp and wife Michelle; great grandchildren: Brandy Holland, Bayley Blandford, Austin Blandford, Hudson Oliver Tharp and Riley Tharp; Many other family and friends who will miss him dearly. Per Charlie’s request family will gather for a private service at a later date. Simplicity Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc., San Mateo, Florida.

    Sorry to learn of Uncle Charlie’s passing. I know that he will be missed. Even though I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with him.
