Charles R. Morton 75, of Clermont, Florida passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka, Florida. Charles was born on Wednesday, March 18, 1936 in Rockford, Illinois to the late Almon B and Maude A. (Outcult) Morton. He is also preceded in death by a son, Randall Morton, brother, Almon Morton, Sisters, Shirley Morton and Margaret Downey. Mr. Morton faithfully served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley Morton of Clermont, Florida; son Richard Charles Morton and wife Patricia of Orlando, Florida; sister, Juanita Rungren of Rockford, Illinois; aunt, Adline Putzel of Rockford, Illinois; grandchildren: Eric Morton, Aaron Morton and Nicholas Newman; great grand sons: Mason Brock and Reed Morton; Numerous other family and friends who will miss him dearly. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2011,at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd Machesney Park. With a visitation one hour prior to the service. Florida arrangements have been entrusted to Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc., San Mateo, Florida, Illinois arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Rockford, Illinois.
