David Wesley McConky 57, of Crescent City, Florida passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, December 12, 2011. He was born in Houston, Texas moved to live in Illinois, where he attended school, Georgia, Ohio then to Florida. David proudly served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army. Prior to going into the Army, he was a cowhand on a Texas Ranch. After leaving the Army he moved to Florida and became a contractor, in the Tampa-Ruskin, Florida area then in Crescent City. Mr. McConky was a cancer survivor, but was plagued with problems associated with the disease. Mr. McConky is survived by his loving wife, Billie Jean McConky of Crescent City, Florida; daughter, Kelly Ziegler of Dunkirk, New York; Samantha McConky of Plant City, Florida; three grandchildren; father, Fred McConky of Southern Pines, North Carolina; sister, Laura Sullivan of Avon by the Sea, New Jersey; No Service is planned at this time. I met Dave when he came in to WorkSource to find employment. He was always positive even though he had a lot on his mind at times. I really enjoyed talking with Dave which usually got us side tracked on the employment side, he loved being a contractor. He will be missed.
