Eric P. Rumney 50, of Palatka, Florida passed away on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka, Florida. Eric was born on Wednesday, March 8, 1961 in Watertown, New York to the late Jene and Arlene (Goodridge) Rumney. Mr. Rumney is survived by his loving wife, Linda H. Rumney of Palatka, Florida; dog, Savannah; son, Dustin Rumney of Granbury, Texas; step daughters: Christine Harper and companion Rod Dusharm, Tanya A. Overton and husband Jerry all of Carthage, New York, and Barbie Garrett and husband Jeff of Savannah, Georgia; brothers: Paul Rumney and Lance Rumney both of Carthage, New York; sisters: Rhonda Vary of Castorland, New York, Lynette Gates of Great Bend, New York and Cindy Rumney of Watertown, New York; seven grandchildren; Many other family and friends who will miss him dearly; No service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers an account has been set up, to help with expenses, at the Prosperity Bank in Palatka for Linda H. Rumney. Simplicity Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc., San Mateo.

I am so sorry to hear this. I just spoke with him at the Dollar General in Carthage not that long ago and I was very surprised to hear of all of his health problems but he was in good spirits. He spoke very highly of his wife and family. He will be missed by many. Sincerely, Jody

Linda im hated to hear this! Im still in alaska in the army but i told them what happend and they said i could come home for the service so soon as yall set a date ill be there hopefully. I was shocked to learn of Eric’s death. Though I haven’t spoken to him in many years, he will always be remembered. He was a good brother. I will never forget the time he stood up for me at the old swimming hole. May God be with you and give you peace.
